Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about ADHD coaching — what to expect, how it works, and how to get started.

Your Questions, Answered with Care

You don’t need to arrive at coaching knowing how it all works.
This page answers some of the most common questions people ask before starting.

If there’s anything you’re still wondering about, you’re always welcome to get in touch — no question is too small.

About Coaching

No. You don’t need a formal diagnosis. Some people I work with are diagnosed, some are self-identified, and others are still exploring whether ADHD is part of their experience. All are welcome.

You don’t need to be organised or have a plan.

Just bring yourself — coaching is a safe, supportive space to talk things through without pressure or judgement.

Therapy focuses on the past and supports mental health and emotions.

Mentoring offers advice based on someone else’s experience.

Coaching helps you look at where you are now and where you want to go, at your own pace.

Practicalities

Most people choose to meet fortnightly, but it’s flexible.

We’ll discuss what feels right for your energy, goals, and availability.

Sessions are 45 minutes long.

It varies. Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific; others continue longer-term.

There’s no minimum — we’ll check in regularly to make sure it’s working for you.

Currently, I offer sessions online only.

This means you can join from wherever you feel most comfortable — whether that’s home, work, or your favourite quiet spot.

Working Together

Absolutely. Accessibility is important to me.

We can use visuals, take breaks, adjust pacing, or use the chat box if that helps.

You’re welcome to share what supports you best — like needing extra processing time or written follow-ups.

Yes. Everything you share is confidential unless there’s a safeguarding concern or legal obligation to share information.

I follow ethical guidelines and will always explain if I ever need to break confidentiality.

I don’t usually send written summaries, as it’s often more meaningful for clients to make their own notes.

However, if written follow-ups support your learning or processing, I’m happy to provide them — just let me know.

Booking & Accessibility

Yes. I offer a free 20-minute discovery call so you can ask questions, get a feel for the process, and see if it feels like a good fit.

There’s no pressure to decide on the spot.

I offer a sliding-scale fee for 1:1 coaching, which we’ll discuss during your free call.

This helps make coaching accessible while keeping my work sustainable.

You don’t need to explain your circumstances — I trust you to choose what feels manageable.

Life happens. You can pause at any time and return when it feels right.

Just let me know — there’s no fixed contract or pressure to continue.

Other Common Questions

Yes. Sessions are flexible. You’re welcome to bring more than one topic, and we’ll focus on what feels most important or helpful on the day.

If you decide to start, we’ll arrange a date and time for your first session.

Before we begin, I’ll send an email with my data and privacy notice plus a few reflective questions to help shape our work together.

That’s okay. Part of the discovery call is making sure this feels right for you.

If it’s not, I can signpost you to other forms of support — like therapy or community resources.
